NYU Brooklyn Campus

Ferra created massive staircases and guardrails for the NYU Brooklyn campus for Engineering and Digital Technology. The design makes it appear as though the staircase is suspended by a single rod-like thread. The pattern for the perforations are on a grid that resembles old computing punch cards. All of the holes for the stringers and handrail were mathematically aligned with the pattern. If one hole moved during development the whole pattern needed reconfiguring.
